PITTSBURGH -- The first of three televised debates involving the three Democratic mayoral candidates in Pittsburgh has been canceled in the wake of the fatal shootings of three city police officers.

Mayor Luke Ravenstahl, City Councilman Patrick Dowd and former police Sgt. Carmen Robinson, who is an attorney, had been scheduled for a debate Monday night.

Ravenstahl is hoping the debate can be rescheduled for early May. The primary is on May 19.
