A union representing Pittsburgh's 175 paramedics announced Tuesday it endorsed Mayor Luke Ravenstahl's re-election campaign.
The five-member executive board of the International Association of Professional Paramedics Local 1 voted unanimously to endorse Ravenstahl, 29, of Summer Hill, union President Anthony Weinmann said.
The Fraternal Order of Police Fort Pitt Lodge No. 1, Pittsburgh's police union, announced its endorsement of Ravenstahl on Thursday.
Ravenstahl has been mayor since September 2006. He is running against Councilman Patrick Dowd and attorney Carmen Robinson in the May 19 Democratic primary.
