Mayor Ravenstahl Talks With Pittsburgh Seniors
Mayor Ravenstahl, today, paid visits to two local Senior Centers in Pittsburgh's Northside.
He spoke to the residents about the issues that concern them most such as clean and safe neighborhoods. He also answered questions and addressed concerns from those in attendance. Their concerns ranged from rent rebates and low income housing to vandalism in their community.

Luke has made it a point to look out for Pittsburgh's seniors. He introduced the Envelope of Life program, a life-saving outreach to City seniors that lets paramedics know a senior's health circumstances before there's an emergency - reducing delays in care.
He also invested in senior safety by giving away nearly 2,500 smoke detectors. And he has brought the 311 Ravenstahl Response Line to seniors as a SeniorInterests employee visits every senior center twice a month to take reports of broken street lights, potholes, and neighborhood safety issues.

Pittsburgh Senior News has called Mr Ravenstahl "A Mayor for All Ages". In a February 2007 article they wrote, "Ravenstahl also sees his role as liaison between seniors and city, county, and state government - especially with issues concerning health care, housing and any programs that seniors may be eligible for but may not be aware of."
Mayor Ravenstahl looks forward to continued dialog with Pittsburgh's seniors in the coming weeks.

Thousands of Yard Signs Delivered Over the Weekend
%20(201%20x%20300).jpg)
Ravenstahl for Mayor volunteers and staff worked together to assemble thousands of yard signs that were delivered over the weekend to supporters who had requested them.
You can't drive far without spotting one of the black, gold, and white signs. Although the volume of yard signs was enormous and may have seemed an overwhelming feat, volunteers stepped up and met the challenge.
The campaign has been taking yard sign requests for months; every phone call and every visit to the doors is an opportunity for people in the community to make their request and show their support for the Mayor by displaying a sign in their own yard or window.

If you have not yet had a chance to request a Ravenstahl sign for your yard or window, it's not too late. Signs are still being put together, requests being taken, and deliveries being made.
If you would like to request your own sign, you can do so my calling our office at 412-288-6086.
If you are interested in helping to assemble signs, make telephone calls, or come canvass with us, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Karli at 412-288-6086.

Fish Fry Friday
Yesterday was Fish Fry Friday in Pittsburgh and Mayor Luke Ravenstahl made the rounds, attending several throughout the day and into the evening, ending at St. Margaret of Scotland serving West End Parishners.
Dozens were gathered for what for some is a weekly tradition. The Mayor's arrival was a pleasant surprise for those in attendence, old and young alike.

Campaign volunteers and staff passed around Luke buttons and literature while the Mayor mingled with the enthusiastic crowd.
Mayor Ravenstahl has worked hard for the city over the past three years and has earned the support of many of Pittsburgh's citizens as well as City of Pittsburgh employees; such as Blaine who commented that he likes how well the Mayor works with the County to get things done here in the City of Pittsburgh.
While Luke's age is an issue for a few, most supporters find it refreshing, "I think it's wonderful for the City to have someone so young. With such fresh new ideas, I've always liked him," stated Michelle Seeling.

Luke has done much during his current term as Mayor, but there is still much to be done. He has a plan and is ready to go; working with you, the people of Pittsburgh, to ensure a bright future for the City we all love and call home.
